1. What is Failed Exam Registration (FER)?
FER is a process that allows students who have either failed or were absent from their final exams to reattempt the final paper examination only.
2. What are FER I and FER II?
FER I: The first opportunity given to students to reappear for the failed or missed final exam.
FER II: A second chance provided if the student does not pass in FER I or was absent during FER I.
3. Who is eligible for FER?
Students who have:
Failed a course in the final exam.
Been absent during the final exam.
4. How can I register for FER?
1.Please follow the steps of FER Registration in CMS :
2.Visit: https://enrollment.aiou.edu.pk/
3.Login using your user/password:
4.Click on Course Registration tile as shown on the screenshot below:
5.From the next screen click on the Search Button of Academic Level:
6.After Selection of Reappear click on Add New Request
7.Your Reappear courses will be shown on the next screen, select the courses and then click on Add courses button:
8.Add the Courses and then click on Submit and then Print Invoice button accordingly.
5. What are the charges for FER registration?

1 SSC/HSSC Rs. 400
2 AD and BA Old Program Rs. 500
3 BS/BBA/B.Ed/PGD/ and other ODL Programs Rs. 1000
6. When can I register for FER?
The registration dates for FER I and FER II are announced by the university. For the results of Phase I programs of Autumn 2024, the FER dates are from 26-05-2025 to 23-06-2025.
7. What happens if I miss both FER I and FER II?
Missing both opportunities may result in readmission in the entire course.
8. When will exam of FER courses be held?
FER exams are held with the exams of next semester as per routine.
